Projects
ECCM has been working on a number of innovative
development and applied research projects, including:
Plan
Vivo System
The Plan Vivo System is a replicable system for establishment
and management of community carbon sequestration projects
in developing countries. The system and its application is
described in detail on this website.
Scolel
Té
The Plan Vivo system has been applied very successfully under
the Scolel Te project, enabling the transfer of funds from
European companies to rural communities in Mexico. Purchasers
of carbon from the project include the FIA and the World Bank
prototype carbon fund (PCF).
CLIMAFOR
Under the CLIMAFOR research project, funded by DFID, ECCM
investigated methodologies for assessing regional carbon baselines
and developed generic Plan Vivo systems.
Carbonsink-LBA
The EU funded Carbon Sink project, is a collaborative project
investigating the implications of changes in the Amazonian
carbon sink on global and European greenhouse gas policies.
Note that these projects
are hosted on separate websites.
